Today we opened Hamlet in repertory at LAMDA, directed by none other than world-renowned director Michael Attenborough! As our final show of the MA in Classical Acting, this has been our opportunity to apply everything we have learned in our studies this past year. And apply we have, and with great aplomb! It has been an absolute pleasure and honor to delve into the role of Hamlet, and though this might seem obvious to anyone with an appreciation for Shakespeare or this play, inhabiting these words has really shown me why this play is considered his greatest work and why it has stood the test of time. Hopefully this won't be the last time I get the chance to play him, because with a character this rich and complex, the actor can always find new depths and constantly surprise his/her/their self.
